In Loving Memory

who passed from this world September 22, 2004.

enjoying life as only he could!

10% of all Texas Judaica profits will be distributed to various tzedaka (charity) organizations here in Israel and to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research

Jackie lived his entire life helping others, almost always in secret. He didn't help others for his own honor; he just felt that everyone deserved as many chances as they needed to get things right.

May we learn from his example and always be willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Why Texas Judaica

TexasJudaica.com emerged out of a mix of faith, endurance, and destiny. A Texas girl, driven by some deep inner voice, immigrated to Israel to find her place in life. And a native born Israeli, with parents who immigrated to Israel from Iraq after the founding of the state of Israel, finally returned to Israel after years in the states. And the two met -- although not in America as the Israeli thought -- but in the Old City of Jerusalem.

And the two became one! It might seem a strange mix -- an Israeli and a gal from Texas -- but when my Israeli husband actually spent time in Texas, he fell in love with the land and the people. And, although he was privileged to know Jackie, my father, only a few weeks, he learned more from him about ethics, about how to treat people, about real and enduring faith, than he had ever learned before.

My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on August 6, 2004 and passed away only 47 days later, on September 22, 2004. The time we spent in Texas was a very difficult time, but when we returned to Israel my husband kept thinking of Texas -- the people, the land, the way of life. And I wanted to find a way to honor my father in a way that truly reflected who he was -- a man who was always helping others.

And, somewhere in this midst of this, TexasJudaica.com was born -- a business dedicated to the memory of my father, a business dedicated to giving 10% of all profits to help others, and to possibly help find a cure for pancreatic cancer, the most devastating and deadly cancer and yet the least-funded in terms of research in America.

Jackie loved life and was always smiling. He would want nothing less from those he left behind.

We sincerely hope you enjoy shopping here and that you find gratification not just in the items you buy, but also in knowing that a part of the money you spend here will help others as well.
